As a fruitful olive tree in the house of God I have hoped in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Collect
God, our Father, you made Saint James an illustrious preacher of the gospel for the salvation of souls and for bringing sinners back to the path of virtue. Through his intercession grant us the grace to atone for all our sins and to attain to everlasting life. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Prayer over the Offerings
Lord, give to us who offer these gifts at your altar the same spirit of love that filled Saint James. By celebrating this sacred eucharist with pure minds and loving hearts, may we offer a sacrifice that pleases you, and brings salvation to us. Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Live in me and let me live in you, says the Lord. He who lives in me and I in him will bear much fruit.

Almighty God, we humbly ask that those whom you nourish with your sacraments may serve you worthily through conduct pleasing to you. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.
