May I never boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ! Through it the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.

Almighty God, you were pleased to distinguish Saint Peter with the gift of remarkable penance and lofty contemplation. May his merits help us to mortify our bodies so that we may deserve to share in the gifts of heaven. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Prayer over the Offerings
Lord, accept our offering and be appeased by the merits of Saint Peter whose pure hands touched and offered this same sacrifice. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Taste and see the goodness of the Lord; blessed is he who hopes in God.

Almighty God, grant that we may merit to receive the benefit which Saint Peter received from the Bread of heaven. Grant this through Christ our Lord.
