The Lord sealed a covenant of peace with him, and made him a prince, bestowing the priestly dignity upon him for ever.
Collect
God our Father, you taught Saint Louis to prefer the kingdom of heaven to a kingdom on earth and wondrously adorned him with the gift of unsullied purity and extraordinary love for the poor. Grant that by imitating his virtues on earth we may be crowned with him in heaven. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Lord, accept the gifts your people offer on this Feast of Saint Louis. May these gifts bring us your help for which we long. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
