大家在家中也可能會有飼養寵物，如猫、狗、金魚、甚至蜥蝪等，並視之為家庭一員，愛護非常 。 但你們又何有想到為牠們求取創造萬有的天主的祝福，使牠們也分沾天主的恩寵，健康、快樂地成長呢 ？

今年小兄弟會初學院籌辦了久遺了的祝福動物活動！就讓大家一起慶祝聖父方濟逾越慶典的同時，也為你的寵物分沾一份喜樂、平安！

眾所周知熾愛之父方濟熱愛萬物，視牠們為兄弟姊妹 。 即使面對不受人歡迎的野狼，微不足道的小魚、爬蟲及嘈雜異常的燕子等動物，聖父方濟亦以極仁慈的心腸去為牠們講及天主的福音及降福牠們 。

小兄弟作為聖父方濟的跟隨者，當然亦學習聖父一樣，去歡迎、擁抱萬物，故今年小兄弟會將舉行兩次別開生面的祝福動物活動。初學院的小兄弟們會以禱詞及聖水去祝福動物，參加者也可畫面、拍照留念，還有賣書攤位、方濟生平及愛護動物資料展覽等，為求令寵物主人及寵物也一同慶祝聖方濟逾越及分沾天主的無限恩寵！

如果你問是次活動跟其他聖堂舉行的有何分別時，我們的回答是：「分別不大，因為天主的恩寵是一樣的，但……我們都是聖方濟的熱愛者，而且是次活動是小兄弟會主辦，主禮者更是身穿咖啡會衣的小兄弟，非一般神職，可能更有味道，讓人更能體會從熾愛之父方濟對自然萬物所傳下來的心情了！」

10 月 16 日祝福動物活動約定你，與你及你的寵物一起讚美天主，並獲天主祝福！

地點：九龍窩打老道 133 號方濟會院

（九龍塘地鐡站 A2 出口，沿窩打老道往南走約 5 分鐘）

時間：歡迎在 2 ： 30 － 5pm 內任何時間自由隨時加入

內容：個別祝福動物、賣書遊戲攤位、與會士拍照、方濟精神簡介、愛護動物展覽等

對象：教友及非教友，請帶同動物（ 沒有動物的，也歡迎來一同慶祝方濟節！！ ）

祝福動物祈禱

全能、至高、至聖、至尊的天主，祢創造了萬物，

唯有祢堪受讚美。

祢為了光榮祢自己，在創造工程的第五、第六日，

造了海裡的魚、天空的各種飛鳥，

以及地上的所有野獸牲畜和人類。

祢以大能創造並祝福了萬物，並交給我們治理，

更啟迪了聖方濟稱太陽、月亮、並一切受造物為兄弟姊妹。

仁慈的上主，現在我們懇求祢，藉著祢的無限慈愛，

•  （為一般動物） + 祝福這動物 NN ，使牠按祢的計畫，在祢的恩寵中健康地生活。

•  （為有病的動物）按祢的聖意， + 恢復這動物 NN 的體力及健康。

更求祢祝福飼養這動物的家庭，願祢的慈顏光照他們，好能夠在與這動物相處的時候，尊重生命，承担責任，而且感受到祢是愛及生命的根源，從而更熱愛生命，讚美祢在萬物中所流露的愛情。

因祢的聖子我們的主耶穌基督之名，求祢俯聽我們的祈禱。亞孟。

Animal Blessing

Blessed are you, All Powerful, Most High, Most Holy, Supreme God, maker of all living creatures.

For your glory, on the fifth and sixth days of creation, you called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land, and made us stewards of all creatures. You even inspired St. Francis to call the sun, the moon and all creatures his brothers and sisters.

Merciful Lord, we now ask you, by the power of your love,

•  bless this animal, NN, and enable it to live healthily in your grace according to your plan.

•  bless this animal, NN, and restore it to health and strength, according to your holy will.

We also ask you to bless the family who keep this animal. May your countenance shine upon them so that, through interacting with this animal, they may respect life, be responsible and see that you are the source of all love and life, thus loving life more deeply and praising you for your love in creation.

We ask this through Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

我們相信，一個社會的成熟成度，可以從它如何對待容易受傷及沒有自衞能力的一群。有關動物福利的法例，就是其中的一個量度。在香港，根據《防止殘酷對待動物規例》〔第 169 章〕，殘酷對待動物、引起動物不必要痛楚或受苦，都是罪行。可是，現行法例並非足夠。凡因向動物受檢控人士的最高刑罸，只是港幣五千元或六個月監禁，而且事實上一般只罸港幣一千元，比亂拋垃圾為低。立法會可以大大提高對虐待動物罪行的懲罰。目前的做法的確並沒有阻嚇作用。執法者應該明認到，實在有需要對虐待動物作適當調查、起訴及設有起阻嚇作用的刑罸。

致香港特別行政區立法會的聯署聲名：

我們以下簽名者，反對殘酷對待動物的行為，要求政府修改《防止殘酷對待動物規例》〔第 169 章〕，提高殘酷對待動物罪行的懲罰。

We believe that a measure of a society's maturity is the way it treats those who are most vulnerable and defenceless. Animal welfare legislation is one such indicator. In Hong Kong, it is an offence under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance (Cap.169) to treat animals cruelly and cause unnecessary pain or suffering to them. However, the existing penalties are inadequate. Anyone convicted of torturing an animal faces only a maximum penalty of a HK$5,000 fine or six months' jail. In reality, most received only a HK$1,000 fine – less than that for littering. The Legislative Council could substantially increase the fines for the offence of cruelty to animals. The current arrangements do not deter those who inflict suffering on animals. It is imperative that prosecutors and magistrates recognise the need for proper investigation, prosecution and, where appropriate, deterrent sentences.

Petition to the Legislative Council of the HKSAR:

We, the undersigned, protest against animal cruelty and demand a revision of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance (Cap.169), substantially increasing the fines for the offence of cruelty to animals.
